Case Study 2: A train covers 360 km in 4 hours.
Q5. Average speed of train?
Answer: 90 km/h
Speed = Distance/Time = 360/4 = 90 km/h
Q6. Time to cover 450 km at same speed?
Answer: 5 h
Time = Distance/Speed = 450/90 = 5 hours
Q7. If it halts for 30 min, effective average speed?
Answer: 80 km/h
Time including halt = 4+0.5=4.5 h; Avg speed = 360/4.5 = 80 km/h
Q8. Distance covered in 2.5 h at same speed?
Answer: 225 km
Distance = Speed × Time = 90 × 2.5 = 225 km
Case Study 3: A bag contains 5 red, 3 blue, 2 green balls.
