Tenses tell WHEN an action happens – Past, Present, or Future.

  1. Present = Happening NOW
    • “I play” (Simple)
    • “I am playing” (Still happening)
    • “I have played” (Just done)
  2. Past = Happened BEFORE
    • “I played” (Finished)
    • “I was playing” (Was doing it, then stopped)
    • “I had played” (Happened before another past action)
  3. Future = Will Happen
    • “I will play” (Not yet started)
    • “I will be playing” (Will be doing it at a future time)
    • “I will have played” (Will finish before another future moment)
